InQuizitor Wins e-Learning Award 2007

04.01.2008

3MRT has won it’s first prize for InQuizitor at the prestigious e-Learning Awards.

The e-learning awards are recognition of excellence in the e-learning industry in the UK and InQuizitor was the only Scottish product to be awarded a prize this year.

Winning an award in the ‘Most Innovative New Product in e-Learning’ category, the judges commented; “This product was highly engaging and almost addictive - even we had a go – but that was its purpose!  The product was developed based on a very clear understanding of their target learners, and its purpose was to re-engage them with learning.  From an independent evaluation this has been well and truly achieved.  3MRT have developed InQuizitor using an intriquing mix of overt and hidden methods and the product is highly entertaining with ‘stealth’ learning as a lasting outcome.” Within its first 12 months, InQuizitor is already installed in schools in over 60 local education authorities.    The ceremony was held in at the Sheraton Park Lane Ballroom in London on Thursday 8 November.

Another Scottish winner was Learning and Teaching Scotland, who won an award for their Modern Foreign Languages Environment in the ‘Best Example of Supporting Learners Online’.

Notes for the Editor

InQuizitor is 3MRT’s first games based product for schools.  Designed to engage and motivate children in study of the curriculum, it was designed and built by some of the world’s leading gamers, originators of the Grand Theft Auto series.  It is already in use across over 60 LEA’s in the UK.
