InQuizitor Stars in ITN Film

17.05.2007

An ITN film crew recently spent the day filming at 3MRT offices and Mearns Castle High School.

They were making a segment for Education Show TV, looking at the long term experience at Mearns Castle - where InQuizitor has been in use for over a year.

It's like ... fun

After interviews with 3MRT staff to find out where the InQuizitor concept came from and the theory behind it's design, the focus turned to classes in school.

Asking pupils if InQuizitor felt like school work typically got the response "not at all, it's totally different, it's like ... fun."

Aw, do we have to go now Sir?

An interesting aspect that became apparent during the filming was how - even after using InQuizitor for a full year (and with some very enthusiastic teachers who use the software a lot in their teaching), pupils were still massively engaged by InQuizitor.

... so much so that they didn't hear the bell at the end of the period and had to be ushered out by the teacher while they protested "Aw, do we have to go now Sir?"

Marks have improved

Even if you don't watch the whole film (it's only 4 minutes long) you'll want to fast forward to around 2 min 30 sec where teacher Ian Phillips answers the question "are they learning?". Describing the records he keeps and feedback he provides to parents he states "I've been able to show that their marks have improved since we started using InQuizitor."
