InQuizitor modes of use
We are constantly impressed by the different ways teachers find to use InQuizitor.
Here are some examples, linked to case studies and references as they become available.
End Of Topic Revision
Once you've finished teaching a topic, you can use InQuizitor to reinforce and embed all the key information from the topic and make sure everyone has a strong foundation upon which to build the rest of the course.
As you work through additional topics, you can create Quizzes that combine all the year's work to date - continually refreshing the earlier topics and adding in the new material as you go along.
Indeed, once your learners have used InQuizitor and recognise it as a fun thing to do, you can preface teaching a topic by announcing an end-of-topic InQuizitor test. Your "homo zappien" learners will quickly realise that paying extra attention in class will give them a head start in the InQuizitor Quiz!
Supported Study
InQuizitor is really useful in a supported study setting as it can be set up to provide learners with differentiated study and revision material that they will happily work through with little or no teacher input required.
Simply making the InQuizitor Player and a range of Question Banks available can be enough to provide a great supported study resource, as learners can use the "Random Quiz" option to create their own Quizzes for the topics they want to revise.
If you need something to boost attandance at homework clubs or out-of-school study groups ... InQuizitor could be just what you need.
Self-Directed Study
Making InQuizitor available on computers in open-access or bookable areas means learners can return (in their own time and/or outside core time) to the Quizzes teachers have created for their courses ... and they can take even more control of their revision by creating their own Quizzes that focus on the topics they choose.
Whole-Class Teaching
Taking a whole class into a computer lab can be daunting for non-ICT specialists. InQuizitor is one application that will keep the whole class fully on-task and usefully occupied.
InQuizitor is so engaging that it makes it easy for cover teachers, classroom assistants and others to supervise whole classes that stay on-topic and on-task.
Class Starters
InQuizitor works well with whiteboards to create a great, fun way to start or finish classes - or to liven up the middle of a long double period.
The teacher can control the session from a single computer with contributions from the class, while smartboards mean that participants can answer questions - and play the games - on the big screen.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Learners working in small groups can tackle a Quiz as a team, working together and negotiating a decision on the correct answer. Quizzes composed of questions from different subjects can be tackled by teams with different "specialists", each getting a chance to shine in their chosen topic.
You can even give teams access to the Editor (under controlled conditions) and have them set Quizzes for the other teams.
Out-Of-Class Learning
There are many challenges in working with learners who spend all or part of their time out of the regular teaching environment. These include finding work you can be sure they will be self-motivated to do, and tasks that can be completed with little or no external input. InQuizitor is sufficiently enthusing, engaging and motivating that learners will actually choose to use it (yes, even without being told to!), and the format it uses means that a learner never gets "stuck" on a question or needs help to progress.
This means InQuizitor can be used to keep learners up to speed with the key facts and concepts they are missing in class, allowing them to maintain and build their self confidence and access the rest of the curriculum when they return.
Competitions
InQuizitor is a great way to run competitions - everyone loves taking part and the housekeeping aspects of running the Quiz and keeping track of scores is all done for you. Mixing up curriculum questions with topics like sports, music and celebrity trivia keeps things lighthearted and creates a level playing field for all kinds of learners.
You can even create completely fun Quizzes for parents evenings, open days, fairs and other special occasions.
